3rd & 7th March 2009: Chupak rice-fields

Following the discovery that Pin-tailed Parrotfinches are sometimes seen in flocks at rice harvest-time feeding on the paddy, Ron and I made a couple of forays to Chupak in the hope of finding one of my biggest 'bogey' birds.

Numbers of waterbirds were well down on the last time I visited - here's one of a few Little Egrets we saw.

Moorhens are quite numerous here. We saw one with a fully yellow bill!

In the absence of any small green munia-types in the paddyfields, this Blue-eared Kingfisher was the best bird we saw.
