I just spent a couple of days at Fraser's Hill trying to photograph Malaysian Whistling Thrush. As you can see, I succeeded! More pics to come when I get home next week.
Thanks to all. It was taken at 7.14am actually Weng Chun - 1/5 second at ISO500. Muin, I was in my hide. Sometimes it was too close to photograph. Many times it flew off when a car, motorbike or jogger came past, but it would come back after a few minutes.
The name's Zul. I'm an avid hiker and photographer. While I was hiking in the jungles of Gunung Yong Yap late last year, I came across an injured bird which looked like a cross between a raptor and a wild chicken. I was hoping you could help me identify it.
nicely done, and I have very little encounter with them despite my many visit FH

Hi Zul
ReplyDeleteLooks like you found the answer already! Yup - it's a Malaysian Night-heron. Quite a rare bird in Malaysia in spite of the name!
Thanks
