October arrived with a whimper! I spent a couple of hours late afternoon in my 'coffin' during which time only a Greenshank and a Yellow Wagtail presented brief photo opportunites.
Eventually gave up in deteriorating light and did a brief scan of the mudflats. It was a 'low high tide', so birds were well scattered. Two adult Gull-billed Terns were the first for the autumn, and at least 6 Red Knot was a new high count for that species, along with 28 Great Knot. Not much else of note though.
